Baja Motorsports Mini Bikes, Go-Carts Recall: Gas Caps Leak

More than 300,000 Baja Motorsports Mini Bikes and Go-Carts have been recalled due to leaking gas caps that could lead to a fire and other problems that could cause sudden acceleration.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the Baja Motorsports recall on Thursday after the manufacturer received at least nine reports of gas caps leaking and detaching. At least one child has suffered a serious burn injury as a result of the defective gas caps.

The mini-bike and go-cart manufacturer has also received at least 25 reports from consumers who said that the throttle on the vehicles got stuck, resulting in some riders suffering a personal injury. According to the CPSC, the sudden acceleration problems are likely due to the fuel line and throttle cable being improperly attached.

GOD is good. Kmart is STILL selling these models and I JUST purchased this for my son. I was NEVER told that these bikes were recalled. What a mess. This is dangerous and an outrage.

This company used to be managed by a group of crooks who are now being sued in Seattle. They produced most of these models and should be held responsible for all defekts, injury etc.
