My mother stopped taking chantix about 6 months ago, mostly becuase of the dreams it gave her. Now 6 months later she is still having these dreams where she is having a hard time knowing the diffrence between her dreams and reality. Has anyone else has this problem, and any idea on how to help her stop the dreams?

Have never felt suicidal using Chantix. However, I have been prone to sudden outbursts of hostility. Which I recognize immediately and try to control. It’s odd, almost like watching yourself blow up from a third person perspective, and left wondering why. Chantix also affects sleep patterns. I wake up constantly, for no reason whatsoever, in the middle of the night. DO NOT drink alcohol with Chantix. Bad Results!! I speak from experience when I say the affects of alcohol are doubled, black-out occurs easily, and you are most definitely going to have an outburst of some sort, possibly hurt someone. Extremely dangerous, so do not drink while you are on this medication!!

I had severe reactions from Zyban including severe confusion, paranoia, anger, panic and even suicidal urges without feeling the least bit suicidal! ALL symptoms disappeared after 4 months off the medication.
