i have used polygrip for about 10yrs now an have had problems for about a yr now with muscle aches an major pain in my arms. i’m always tired now with no desire to do things like i used to. my feet get real tired now where i could walk all day before whatever going on with me no one seens to know vitamins one a day mens 50+ advantage are not helping so i don’t know is it possible poligrip is doing it but no insurance now due to lay-off.

I have been wearing dentures about 4 years and using fixodent. Though i suffer from fibromyalgia,heart problems and have chronic pain I have noticed that I am more fatigued than normal and I have been suffering with dizzy spells for no reason. I do have electrical problems with my heart but this is different. My legs and left arm have been paining me something terrible and the pain meds I am on does not seem to be helping. I have had my usual blood work but the doctor said they are normal. I also have been going to the bathroom alot more since last year this has been going on. Can i just go to my doctor and ask to have my blood checked for this and will the insurance pay for it? It sure seems like the american people are being used as ginnypigs, every time you turn around there is a law suit for some medication. Isnt all this stuff suppose to be tested before its put out to the people?! Thank you for listening, good luck to all of you, Hope

I too have used polygrip and fixodent for several years. Also i have many of the symptoms which others have experienced. This week i have been to the doctors for a Zinc level test and await the results in about 10 days, hopefully this will explain a lot of the body pain and tiredness that i have most days. I have found on the internet a product called SECURE of which the company assure me there is NO zinc content.

I’m 57yrs old and I have upper and lower dentures. I’ve been using fixodent for 5yrs now, I like everyone else have much pain.I was having pain in my bones which the doctor said was fibromyalgia,I have pain in my back by my shoulder blade, which the doctor said I have arthritis. I experience,just recently tingling in both my hands, also a burning in both hands.I also was diagnose with ibs,(irrible bowel systrone) all what I was diagnose is about the same as the zinc poisoning.I haven’t taken any test for the zinc poisoning.I also have some numbness on my right side of my face which no one can explain what it can be. I’m very sluggish, have no energy, I was diagnose with thyroid condition which is undercontrol. What am I suppose to do. Soooo glad that I’m not losing it that other people are feeling some if not all symtoms that I’m feeling. I feel comfort in knowing that IM NOT GOING CRAZY. Thanks sooo much.

I cant belive what i just read about fixodent and poligrip my doughter told me to look it up.i have all the same symtoms last week i had a MRI on my head to see what was making me so dizzy nothing showed up i am 49 and i have been using fixodent for the past 10 years i thought i was going crazy becouse i am so tired and dont feel like doing anything because i hurt all over my body.i am going to call my dr and get my zinc leval done. thank you all for sharing. good luck katny

I am 88 years old and have ben using Poligrip and other denture ‘glues’ for many years. I play golf several times each week with my wife. I have noticed none of the symptoms mentioned by others. HOWEVER my scores have become non bragable. Many times, weather permitting, I use my pull cart causing me to breath harder than in the past. Age? or Zinc? By the way Zinc and iron are the most needed metals for good body health.

Has anyone else had trouble with chronic eye watering while using these products? Other than the extreme fatigue and aches and pains, I have had chronic and severe eye watering to the point I have had to have others drive me around because I cannot clear my eyes.

I have been using Fixadent for at least 15 years. I have neuropathy in my feet. It is so painful,in the winter it feels like my feet are in a bucket of ice. and in the summer it feels like bees stinging me. A doctor told me that my feet are dead. I am on disability. I am only 55 years old. I cannot take nuerotin because it had terrble side effects, I could not remember how to do the job I had done for 5 years. I then lost my job. Just recently I am having numbness in my neck and between my shoulder blades. I am really scared, I have to use adheisive for my dentures. I cannot believe how many people this has affected so many people. God Bless you all.

I just started using poligrip in October 2009. Do these products still contain zinc? Wouldn’t my dentist have warned me about this?

I am posting this on behalf of my Mother in Coventry England. She has had top & bottom dentures for over 40 yrs, and like many others uses way above the quantity mentioned due to her dentures not fitting. Upto 4/5 years ago she was fully active, walked every where, played in a local darts team twice weekly, gardening etc.. Over a period of approx 1 year she was no longer able to throw her darts and had to quit the team; since then she has got progressivly worse, to point now that she is unable to use her right arm and now struggling with her right. She has been tested at hospital and had scans and tests with nothing showing, She was told it was neuropathical and nothing that they can do. Is there any one in England that will take on this case?
