Nestle Prepared Foods company has recalled over 875,000 pounds of frozen Lean Cuisine chicken meals because they may contain small pieces of hard plastic that could cause injury for consumers. FDA Panel to Review Zyprexa Side Effects for Children
At a meeting of the FDA’s Pediatric Advisory Committee today, potential label changes will be considered for Eli Lilly’s antipsychotic drug Zyprexa. The Committee will evaluate whether new warnings are necessary about the risk of potential Zyprexa side effects for children, such as severe weight gain, hyperglycemia or other metabolic effects. A recall has been issued for 1 ounce tubes of 10% Benzoyl Peroxide Acne Cream, which were sold as “Kroger Acne Gel”, “DG Maximum Strength Acne Medicated Gel” and “Equate: Medicated Acne Gel.” The products may be contaminated with a bacteria that could result in a potentially serious infection. Following Recalls, Digitek Manufacturer to Remain Shut Down
The U.S. Department of Justice and the FDA have taken steps to continue barring Actavis Totowa from manufacturing and distributing generic drugs. The actions were taken following a series of serious manufacturing problems which resulted in a nationwide Digitek recall earlier this year when double strength tablets were produced, and a subsequent recall that involved potential issues with over 65 different generic drugs. Another Extendicare Class Action Lawsuit Filed over Nursing Home Neglect in Wisconsin
Nursing home operator Extendicare faces a third class action suit, this time filed on behalf of all residents of their nursing homes in Wisconsin. Similar Extendicare class action lawsuits have been filed in Washington and Minnesota, with all of the cases alleging that the company places profits over patient care by admitting residents that they are not properly equipped to handle. NuvaRing Lawsuit: Judge Requires Disclosure of Psychiatric History on Plaintiff Fact Sheets
U.S. District Judge Rodney Sipple, who is assigned to oversee the NuvaRing MDL for all federal birth control ring lawsuits, has elected to use the Defendants’ proposed Plaintiff Fact Sheet. This will require that each individual who files a case in the MDL, must disclose their entire history of psychological or psychiatric counseling as part of the initial discovery. Continued
