Ortho Evra Lawsuit Settlements Exceed $68.7 Million So Far
Bloomberg News reports that Johnson & Johnson has paid at least $68.7 million so far to settle Ortho Evra lawsuits filed by women who suffered blood clots as a result of their birth control patch. However, the drug maker continues to face thousands of other cases that have not resolved.
Ortho Evra Recall Urged by Public Citizen
Public Citizen, a national consumer advocacy group, filed a petition with the FDA today on behalf of more than 80,000 individuals throughout the United States. They are asking the FDA to recall the Ortho Evra birth control patch within six months due unreasonable risks of blood clots and other serious injuries.
