Cadillac SRX Recall: Transmission Problems Could Cause Crashes
Nearly 9,000 Cadillac SRX vehicles from the 2010 and 2011 model years are being recalled due to transmission problems, which could result in an auto accident.
The Cadillac SRX recall was announced by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on December 28, after it was discovered that some transmissions may have been improperly installed.
At least four incidents are suspected of being linked to the Cadillac SRX transmission problems, according to General Motors (GM), the manufacturer.

Change Healthcare Data Breach Impacts Millions of Customers
A massive Change Healthcare data breach exposed the names, social security numbers, medical and personal information of potentially 100 million Americans, which have now been released on the dark web. Lawsuits are being pursued to obtain financial compensation.
Learn MoreThe Cadillac recall came after an investigation into a complaint received by GM in June, where a customer reported that a 2011 Cadillac SRX began moving unexpectedly as they tried to shift between Drive and Park.
A General Motors dealership investigated the vehicle and found that the transmission shift cable was not seated in the transmission shift bracket.
GM’s investigation at the assembly plant that manufactured the vehicles found that 11 out of 710 vehicles inspected had transmission shift cables that were not fully seated in the transmission bracket. A review of the company’s records found three other warranty claims for 2010 and 2011 Cadillac SRX vehicles that appear to be linked to the same problem.
According to the NHTSA, the problem could lead to the driver being unable to shift the transmission out of gear, resulting in a lack of motion. It could also lead to the shifter indicating that the vehicle is in Park when it is not, which could cause the car to roll away and cause a crash.
The recall affects 8,789 model year 2010 and 2011 Cadillac SRX vehicles. GM will notify registered owners and dealerships who have vehicles affected by the recall next month. Owners will be able to bring the vehicles to dealers, who will ensure that the transmission shift cable is properly installed, GM states. Owners with questions can contact Cadillac at (866) 982-2339.

While driving about 45 mph during rush hour traffic, the SUV abruptly came to a slow and all power, power steering and acceleration was lost. I was so afraid because I had no control over the vehicle. I was so afraid I was going to get slammed by the other vehicles dead on my tail and that I was going to get killed. This very easily could have caused a huge big pile up. I saw a side street and it too every ounce of strength I had with my god-daughter helping me; to get the vehicle to turn so I could get off the main highway. I am a disabled person and I hurt my neck and shoulders really bad as I was trying to control and turn the SUV. I am in a lot of severe pain. The SUV was towed to the dealer on yesterday and they say they have fixed it; something about the gear shift. Now I am responsible for paying $100.00 deductible for a vehicle I am afraid to drive because of this incident. I have not picked it up yet. I called GMC today and reported the incident and a report was taken.

I was injured when our 2010 Cadillac SRX began to roll while it was in park. I was knocked to the ground and my leg was ran over. I spent nearly three months in the hospital and had three surgeries to fix my leg. GM says there is nothing wrong with the vehicle and refuses to pay any damages or bills. I'm letting you know this, so that it won't happen to you!
