Ford EcoBoost Engine Class Action Lawsuit Alleges Automaker Knew About Defect With Critical Component For Years Ford vehicles were sold with EcoBoost motors that the company knew would likely fail shortly outside the 60,000 mile factory warranty period, according to the complaint. September 6, 2024 Michael Adams Add Your Comments Ford Motor Company faces a class action lawsuit over its EcoBoost engines, alleging that the auto manufacturer continued selling vehicles that contained defective belts that it knew were likely to break shortly after the vehicles reached their 60,000 mile warranty period, causing the engines to seize and stop. The Ford 1.0L EcoBoost engine was marketed as an award-winning, “turbo-charged wonder,” and was included in the 2018 to 2021 Ford EcoSport, 2016 to 2018 Ford Focus and 2016 to 2017 Ford Fiesta vehicles, all of which had suggested retail prices ranging from $16,000 to $20,000. However, the manufacturer has received a number of warranty claims in recent years, indicating that oil does not circulate properly through the engine, leaving rubber belts sitting in fluid until they snap and cause the engine to instantly stop working, sometimes while the vehicles are travelling at highway speeds. According to allegations raised in a Ford EcoBoost engine class action lawsuit currently being pursued in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, the defect often occurs just outside of the vehicle’s 60,000 mile powertrain warranty, meaning that owners are left with no means of compensation for cars with engines that no longer work, causing severe financial hardship. Lawsuits are being filed by young adults and students who were targeted by deceptive promotions, addictive app features, and aggressive marketing tactics. See if you qualify for a sports betting addiction lawsuit. Learn More SEE IF YOU QUALIFY FOR COMPENSATION Marlon Boltin and more than a dozen other Ford owners filed an amended complaint (PDF) in the case on August 23, indicating that Ford should be required to buy back the defective vehicles. The lawsuit not only seeks damages for the named plaintiffs, but also seeks class action status to pursue on behalf of other owners of vehicles with the defective 1.0L EcoBoost engines. According to the complaint, the faulty belts are a result of Ford not manufacturing them with robust enough materials, leaving the engine’s belts more prone to easily breaking than other engine belts. Bolton purchased a new Ford EcoSport equipped with a 1.0L EcoBoost engine in 2018. When the engine reached 64,000 miles four years later, the oil pressure light came on while Bolton was driving it. Within ten minutes, the vehicle went into “limp mode,” which is a safety feature that automatically reduces the vehicle’s speed. Pulling over to the side of the road to avoid an accident, Bolton quickly discovered that the car’s engine had seized up and was no longer able to be started. He wound up paying $2,387 for a new engine. However, that new engine was also a 1.0L EcoBoost engine, which made Bolton apprehensive, given the danger he had already faced while driving one of those defective engines. “(T)he engines equipped in the Class Vehicles are, as described by one Ford Dealership employee, ‘time bombs’ due to a defect that prevents oil from circulating properly that destroys the engine, leaving consumers with a repair bill that frequently exceeds the value of the vehicle,” Bolton said in the complaint. Ford Knew About EcoBoost Engine Problems Since 2016 The lawsuit alleges that Ford has known about this issue with its 1.0L EcoBoost engine since at least 2016, but continued selling cars equipped with it. In a sample recall letter, Ford says that drivers do not need to stop driving any of the affected vehicles, including: 2018 to 2021 Ford EcoSport 2016 to 2018 Ford Focus 2016 to 2017 Ford Fiesta The company will replace defective or broken parts free of charge. However, replacement parts will not be available until early 2025, leaving drivers with potentially costly bills and sometimes no vehicle to drive until that time. According to the complaint, company internal communications detail that Ford has known that the 1.0L EcoBoost engine is prone to seizing up since at least 2016, when customers first started complaining about it. The original class action complaint in this case was filed on June 9, 2023, following a December 2022 recall issued by the company on 2016 to 2018 Ford Focus and Ford EcoSport models. Ford filed a motion to dismiss the case on grounds that none of those who filed the complaint took advantage of the company’s recall policies, that they were filing the complaint on behalf of affected cars that none of them had bought, and that there is no actual defect to the engine. The company’s motion to dismiss was partially granted by the presiding judge, U.S. District Judge Gregory B. Williams, on July 8, 2024. In Judge Williams’ opinion (PDF) on the partial dismissal, he granted Bolton and the other plaintiffs an opportunity to file an amended complaint, particularly addressing his express warranty claims and equitable relief. Bolton responded with the amended complaint on August 23, 2024. I had no problems with it until the middle of December 2024. I did regular oil changes and maintenance on the vehicle. In December I driving highway speed when it started losing RPM. There was no warning lights or any trouble light on. All of a sudden it started making a loud noise. I immediately pulled over. The car died and wouldn’t start back up. It has 61,000 miles on it. The system light shows no problems with the vehicle. I was told by Ford there is a recall on that engine but mine is not on the recall list. Ford said I can replace the engine but I would have to pay for it. They advised if it ever gets recalled and if I keep the receipts I could get reimbursed. In the meantime I have no vehicle. Angela January 2, 2025 We kept up the maintenance requirements like changes tire replacement and rotation. In November 2024 the car started acting as if it had a problem staying cranked once the engine was engaged and the engine service engine soon light came on and would not go off. The car at that time was not running hot or leaking any fluids. The car threw off a code that it had a misfire in coil 1. Replaced the 4 Coils and spark plugs for 377.71 and the car is still acting the same way and light is still on. Crossroad Fords and paid $203.00 for them to do a diagnostic test to see why the service engine soon light is still coming on saying the same code. Today we have been informed that it is due to the coolant fluids puddling around the coil in the motor causing the service engine soon light to come on and the usage of antifreeze. We have now been advised that we need a new motor due to this problem and a new motor would cost us $10,000. But we only owe 9000 for the car. Now we are out of a car I use to go to my medial apartments and cannot make the payments and repair the engine on Disability. Tom November 21, 2024 I have a 2016 Ford Focus with The 1.0 liter Eco Boost. The belt for the oil pump went at 101,000 miles. The car was under the recall. Got it to the dealer. The dealer confirmed it was under the recall and if the oil pump belt was the problem they would take car of it. The belt was the problem. They had the car for 2 months waiting for an engine. They arranged for a long term car rental for me and paid for the tow. Got the car back. Runs like new. The only problem I have is that car rental coast $2751.00 and Ford only paid $2425.00. I am fighting with them for the $326.00 that I had to pay for the rental. Susan November 3, 2024 My 2020 ecosport issued an early recall. I called twice ant there was no fix. Each time they said they know the problem exists but don’t have a fix. I was able to drive it until it barely coasted into the dealership the next morning after being terrified I would be stranded on the road with my 2 yr old granddaughter on the way back from Charleston. After they looked over the car, they determined the cause was due to the recall. No fix was available. I had to have a car. They covered the cost of a rental for 5 damn months while I heard nothing. I could only drive a Ford while waiting. I had to pay on my vehicle and ins with no ability to sell or trade. I got it back last week with a “temporary new engine”. It is not a fix and no word on the real parts would come in. I was very nervous to drive it. I got about 20 miles down the road, warnings came on and it died. I was lucky to not get in an accident and someone helped push me into safe place. I called Ford, they came and got me and towed my car back. Luckily rental was still at dealership. I got a message that it was my battery and I need to pay 240 to replace it. Well my car hasn’t run for 5 months and new motor put in, I am sure the battery could be dead for not running or testing or a light left on but after what I have been through, I don’t have 250 to pay, I have to have a car to drive and Ford is shallow and won’t just buy my car back or continue to pay for a rental until the actual recall is fixed. chris October 21, 2024 I heard there is a problem with the engine, I was told to take it to the dealer to get it fixed Lindsey October 14, 2024 Husband and I have been out of a car since February because the exact thing happened to us with out Ecosport 2021. Dalia J October 9, 2024 Having problems with 2028 Ford Fusion SE, Has Turbo/Ecoboost problems and it doesn’t even have 53,000 miles Michael October 7, 2024 I just sold my 2014 Ford Escape SE with 113,000 miles on it because the rear differential gears were chewed up and needed to be replaced. The cost of replacement was approximately $5500. The vehicle doesn’t have a tow hitch which means it never overtaxed the drive train! At 80,000, the transmission failed, and it cost me $3500 ( After negotiating down from $8500!!!) I took the Escape SE to a local transmission shop to get a 2nd opinion and, when I showed up, they had a 2014 Ford Escape up on the lift and 2 in their work queue – all getting their transmissions fixed. The employee said, “Oh, yeah. The 2013,4,5 Escapes are notorious for transmission failures. What happens is their torque converters break down and the metal slurry clogs the transmission fluid ports. Ford knows it.” And, as if a faulty transmission and rear differential isn’t enough, the 1.6 liter Ecoboost engine leaks coolant into the 2nd and 3rd cylinders. Ford’s solution was to replace the coolant reservoir with one that has a sensor to notify when coolant is low. So Ford knows the engine is faulty. I probably spent $200 on coolant due to the leak. Cars have issues all the time. That’s to be expected. Manufacturers should stand behind their products if they know there is a defect. In my case, I purchased the 2014 Ford Escape SE brand new. I was willing to pay the new vehicle price because I trusted Ford to provide me with a quality (Quality is supposed to be Job One) vehicle. Normal wear and tear to be expected, however a new transmission at 80k, a rear differential at 110k and a defective engine from the factory is a flagrant breach of that trust! April September 28, 2024 I am having the engine replaced in my 2017 Edge, purchased used from a Ford dealership. Coolant leak into one of the cylinders: cost $6000. I’ve been searching online for a class action lawsuits here in Michigan to join but haven’t found any. I deserve compensation. My claim with one of those warranty-extending companies was denied because I’d never had the coolant system flushed. No one can tell me if that would have made a difference, which I sincerely doubt. They were just looking for an excuse to deny my claim. Carla September 25, 2024 My 2014 Ford Escape Titanium overheated in October of 2022 after having low engine coolant warnings several weeks prior. Although there was a recall for the same year and model, Ford stated it didn’t cover my VIN so I’d have to pay for the charges, which I did not have. I’d like to know the status of the lawsuits and what I ought to do at this stage of the game. My car is parked in a friend’s yard. Helen September 19, 2024 I had to replace my engine on my 2018 ford edge, barley hads 71,000 miles on it Ford should stand behind recalls and help anyone with this issue S I called ford lady at like she was totally lost Boy Ford is really getting a bad name People do not walk around with nearly 6, 000 to replace a engine Victoria September 16, 2024 I feel ford should stand up to there faulty products that sold as a safe car that public. Make ford responsible and give people that lost. A new vehicle. Matthew September 16, 2024 Everything they say about the Ford are true cause even my 2017 Ford explorer xlt Ecoboost is giving me problem now. For me to be able to fix the engine it going to cost me 6000 dollar for fix the problem in the engine something about combustion not happening in one of the cylinder. My check engine is light is on and sometimes my car shake really bad even though I change the spark plugs. I am also still paying for my car 800 dollar a month man I don’t have time to spend more money fixing the car when I already spending allot pay for it. William September 16, 2024 We have a 2017 Ford Escape and A 2020 Ecosport. The Escape needs a new transmission according to the dealership who also promised us when we purchased the vehicle that they would provide a power train warranty for as long as we owned the vehicle as long as we had it serviced at that dealership, we have always serviced it there but they want $7,000.00 to replace the transmission. Ford should stand behind there products. Jason September 15, 2024 Well just got a Ford edge 08 it is loaded mice vehicle and the thing was doing great intill daughter coming home for weekend from IU and said she was running 75 and all the lightsce on and she said it died it sure did spun 2 and 5 rod bearings and locked up mains look okay so not sure imhearing this engine is shot at 200000 is this true Wilfred September 15, 2024 Ihave a 2016 Edge that need a engine with 58000 miles on it,after a lot of anti freeze missing.we found that ford had a defect head gasket problem,6000.00$ in winch I paid 1200.00$1 year warranty.I had to contact the ford direct, the dealer did nothing.i don’t know if ford corrected the problem! Fermin Allen Chavez September 14, 2024 I have a 2016 Ford Escape 1.6 L engine. I got the vehicle through Drive Time Auto sales. At 67,000 miles June 12,2023 it has been giving me problems cooling, fuel pressure, high pressure fuel pump, sencer, stalling on freeway, codes after cades. I’ve payed a lot of money out of pocket. Warranties expired after 100,000 miles. I have 130,000. Miles and afraid this vehicle will give out on me. I’m a Honorable Discharged Veteran disabled and on a fixed income. I’ve been paying Almost $700.00 a month. Started at $16000.00 & still owe $16000.00 figure? Charles F September 14, 2024 We have a 2016 Ford escape where the engine did that very thing seized up and it took us almost a year to have it repaired Elizabeth September 14, 2024 I have a 2016 Ford Edge Titanium with the Eco boost engine. I had the same issue with the check engine light coming on and then going off. When I brought it to the dealership service department, they told me that the coolant had leaked out into the engine and I had to have the engine replaced. I had to leave my vehicle because they told me that I probably would not make it back home. I have maintained all scheduled maintenance at the dealership, This could have been a very serious situation had I been traveling or out alone after dark… Michael September 14, 2024 Ford is a horrible company…stay the fuq away…6.0 power stroke owner…. never again will I give my hard earned money to such a shitty company…wife has a 2013 fusion three letters P.O.S. fuq Ford may your company get all the bad karma in the world. Chester September 14, 2024 If you own a Ford Escape 2017-2019 this is a must-read it will not let me upload but go to ford.com customer satisfaction and put your VIN number in they owe you a new engine. THIS IS A COVER-UP AS THEY ARE NOT A RECALL SINCE THERE HAS BEEN NO ONE HURT To whom it may concern, August 17, 2024 I bought a 2018 Ford Escape SEL on July 4, 2023, well several months back I noticed that I had to keep adding more coolant and oil. Since the car is always parked inside, you would think you could see something on the floor. Well, I never saw anything. So, on August 8, 2024, I took it to my mechanic who on August 13, 2024, said that I needed a new engine do the following engine codes P0300, P0301-P0304, P0316, P0217, P1285, and/or P1299. After a few moments of silence, my mechanic said “But I might have something that can help you with the repair. I honestly thought well guess he has a payment plan I was sure hoping as I did not have the $5,676.09 and nowhere to get it from plus paying the car notes. That is when he told me at the customer satisfaction program the only issue was it is either 7 years our younger on the car or less the 84,000. My car is 6 years old but has 98537 miles. I thought why not call them and talk to them anyway. Talked with a rep on my 1st call and could tell she was reading the script from start to finish. I asked her why I had not received a letter or even a notice on the Ford Pass App. She told me they sent one round of letters and nothing else and will not send anything else unless it becomes a recall. Well, a recall happens when someone is in danger of being hurt or killed by the product. So, I asked for a supervisor and was told one would call me back within twenty-four business hours. Two days had passed so I called them back and was about to speak to someone who stated they were a supervisor and went through the whole script once again but at the end was told because of the miles on my car I did not qualify, and they are not going to fix my car. I told her Well I did not receive a notice of the defect, and she stated they sent it to I believe she said Avis’s car rental but could be another company. I asked her why when someone buys the car and registers the car on the Ford Pass App I was not notified. I was told very rudely that they sent it to the owners at the time and no one else. So now I have a car sitting at the mechanics that I have a car note and insurance to pay plus pay for a repair that Ford Motor Company is liable for. I need some help with this company as this should have been made very public and they should be honoring all owners. Patricia September 13, 2024 My 2018 ford explorer , bought new ,, 58000 miles , in shop for second time this month, same issue ., brake light on , 4 wheel drive on , 1500 dollars first time , now they another problem showing on diagnostic, also they said they used a cheaper part, bug never ask me about it,, also they got some kind of spots on windshield on different areas , I’m sooo frustrated ,, to me it was a lot of money, don’t think I should have to pay again for something they found on second time around which would have shown on first inspection 😩 Jessica September 12, 2024 I have a 2014 Ford escape and it’s going to be problems. Put oily a coolant link airbag light hanging on for no reason. Not to mention other things when I check there’s no recall on my vehicle which they should be. As a single mom I am drowning also. I feel like Ford is failing. Tanya September 12, 2024 Problem with Dash Computer, keeps reminding me I need an oil change, when I just had one at just tires a few months ago, keep checking the oil, trying to correct the oil change light on dash computer, no luck Patsy September 12, 2024 I’ve had oil leakage problems. Coolant leak. Torque converter problems. Now possibly a cracked head gastric. I have a 2017 titanium Edge It had a little over 34,000 miles on it when I bought it. I’m making payments of 400.00 a month , plus repair bills. Problems started about 2 to 3 years ago. Shilo September 12, 2024 I am drowning as a single mom with this inflation paying on a Ford that has not run in over 2 years! I had 6 year loan and it feels like it is never going away. The engine went out right after I went over the mileage! Less than 3 years old. Who sells a care like this??? I also have to maintain FULL Coverage even though the car doesn’t run! This has been a nightmare. You know what FORD TOUGH is……. ME I am Ford tough! You know what walking everywhere for a year with your son is.. Tough,- FORD TOUGH My son walking home 3 miles from school in the snow is… Tough, FORD Tough Not being able to visit my elderly family is Tough, FORD Tough Walking in the rain to church is Tough, FORD Tough ETC>>>> Miledrea September 12, 2024 I have a 2013 Ford Edge 4 Cylinder (2.0) Turbo SEL (Ecoboost) all wheel drive. My engine light came on at at approximately 75-80,000 miles around the year of 2018. When I had a diagnostic reading done, the computer said that the issue was the Turbo needed to be replaced. Since, I’ve had to replace the gasket and the belt around that area replaced due to oil leaking through. To buy me time to save money to have the turbo replaced, I have avoided hills, excessive high speeds and I try to drive my vehicle a little as possible, which means I have not been about to get the most out of my vehicle. I finally got the money to get the turbo replaced last year, after finally paying my vehicle off. Only to be told that I now need an additional 2k to have my Cadillac converter replaced as if the trouble is replaced and the old Cadillac Converter goes out, it will void the warranty on the turbo (per Ford). It going to cost me about $5500 to have both replaced. I literally just paid my vehicle off less than a year ago and now have to spend almost the cost of a new vehicle for repairs. This class action lawsuit should apply to all Ford vehicles with a turbo/ ecoboost, regardless of the year. I would like to be added to this lawsuit. Stacy September 11, 2024 I have a 2018 ecosport. I only had this car for a year and my tranmission went up. It only has 77,758 miles on it. And carmax and Ford won’t help me because the warranty over. I only put 41,000 miles on it since I had. I’m a single mom and can’t get it fix and the car is how I make my money. So now I can’t work because the car broke down. I don’t know what to do. It will cost 3,500 to get it fix and I don’t have the money to get it fix. So now I’m Screwed out of a car. And I still own 20,000 on the car. Todd September 11, 2024 I owned a 2002 Ford fusion, with eco boost. Had major problems with the engine. Is it one of the vehicle’s that is recalled, because of the engine? Carrie September 11, 2024 Yes a ford problem I have a 2017 ford escape eco boost n it’s been a complete nightmare since I bought it yes after about 60,000 miles engine went out after I had brought it to ford n they told me the coolant went into the engine n I had bought a extended warranty that I paid $1500 for n it didn’t cover the engine saying because the coolant went into the engine, it’s a eco boost problem I wrote ford 2 times n never got a response , meanwhile I had to get to work I had to take out money from my 401 k to get a engine put in then maybe 6- months to a year later the transmission goes out like really 🤦♀️had to take a another loan out to get a brand new ford Tramsmission in mind u I have a certified n good mechanic doing my work all documents n receipts so this vehicle was bought in Mn so after dealing with all that n waiting on my truck to be fixed had to find a way to work every day tell it was done then after getting everything done n still owe 8 grand on that piece of shit n already put 10, 000 into it I had plans to move to South Carolina were I reside now I have only been here almost 2 years n the new engine went out so putting to much money into it n owe 8 grand I told the credit union iam done paying on that vehicle bad credit don’t care come get it !! Nope didn’t come get it n it sits in the drive way needing another engine n not doing it ford needs to do something about it n now idk what to do with it 🤷♀️nice vehicle payed to much for it n over 10,000 down the drain that i put into it ! I need to join this class action law suit I would like all the money I spent on engine n transmission for a Ford problem it’s so ridiculous n I will never buy ford again !! Lisa September 11, 2024 I purchased my 2017 Ford escape new from Steve Coury Ford and i have never had problems other than the liftgate latch that stopped working and was replaced, and a relay switch for blower fan replaced. Until 7/2024 when I noticed that car was would idle rough when first started and check engine light came on intermittently so I had it checked by my mechanic that noticed there wasnt coolant in the resivour or radiator. Coolant was filled and it seemed fine for about 2-3 days then while driving within 1/2 mile from my house the red light came on saying excessive heat pull over immediately safely. The car coolant was bone dry again , and no visible sign of leaking. Put coolant in and drove it home. Car would not restart, I had it towed to the dealership where I had it diagnosed for 200 out of pocket. It was complete engine failure and quoted 8000 for new engine Maximo September 10, 2024 I,own 2018 Ford F-150 and I,spend over $4,000.00 on repair do to the camphase repair, only with 91,000.00 miles Darryl September 10, 2024 What needs to be added to this lawsuit is about the oil pan leaking issues on 2015 – 2017 Ford and Lincoln model. Lincoln and Ford will not provide any relief in the cost as they continued to issue TSB’ s, 4 currently which requires not only the oil pan and gaskets but valve covers and gaskets, also extended warranty will not accept in repairing due to the valve covers may not be leaking but the TSB is requiring them to be replaced at the same time the oil pan is being replaced. A double edged sword. I am currently fighting with Lincoln and indirectly screw you but directly told, your problem, your fix. Add this and notify all Lincoln past and present if the paid for the repairs or traded the car because it was a lemon or a repeated recurring problem. My understanding and common sense, plastic oil pan and metal does not heat at the same temperature causing a problem with the sealing of the gasket and the faulty design of the oil pan. Shantell September 10, 2024 I have a 2020 Ford Escape that has been sitting in my driveway because it DONT reverse due to engine issues. The engine has 73,000 miles and I brought it brand new. I have called several Ford places to get help they tell $8000.00 to fix it because the warranty ran out already. The problem is why do you keep selling these SUV’s if you know they have issues but won’t buy them back when they stop working… very annoyed Ford customer!!! Shelley September 9, 2024 I have a 2020 and the dealership has had mine since July 2024 two motors later they said it was ready. I am worried that it will happen again. I have a disabled husband and we have been without a vehicle until last week. I finally got a courtesy car. How concerned do I need to be this isn’t fixed? Everything I have read says the parts won’t be ready until sometime in 2025. I want a different car but I can’t put a down payment on one now. Are they going to let us trade it . This situation has cost us. Does someone have answers. We never got the recall. Until the oil light came on and I had them come get it and take it to the dealership and found out then. Thomas September 9, 2024 What about 3.5 Ecco boost F150 cam phasers failures ? Mary September 9, 2024 I just paid 11K for a new engine on my 2017 Ford Edge, with 47K mileage. Still negotiating with Ford Motor Company for some compensation. Alice September 9, 2024 Hello! I went to Southwest Ford, here in San Antonio TX, and tried to trade-in my Ford EcoSport ; the Consultant informed me I would have to pay $10,000 down, first, and they would not consider giving me anything for the car because it is on recall! I pray each and every time I get in the car to go where I need to go; never knowing if I will get there safely. Adrian September 9, 2024 I had a 2018 Ford Ecosport. It stopped running on me in the middle of traffic. Had it towed to shop. I was told the oil regulator had gone out and my motor was gone Dan September 9, 2024 Just ANOTHER fully legit lawsuit that will be “dismissed ” by a judge that FORD payed off, just like the other ” fully legit ” lawsuit FORD was able to have “dismissed ” for the crap 3.5l ecoboost water pump problems. Troy September 8, 2024 Happened to me with my 2017 Ford F150 2.7 L echoboost engine, Ford told me I had to get a new engine. The cost was insane. I owned the F150 for only two years ( which cost me $32k at the dealership) when the engine blew, ended up paying $7,300.00 for the same kind of engine to be installed. I was so upset, took me 10 months to save that $7,300 to get the truck back on the road. Still apprehensive . Hans September 8, 2024 So Mr. Bolton continued to drive the vehicle after the oil pressure light came on and within ten minutes the engine seized? He should have immediately stopped when the oil pressure light came on and avoided the seizure. Earl September 8, 2024 I was sold a lemon. My 2020 equinox broke down when I had less than a thousand miles. Even had a case for my vehicle with chevrolet cooperation. When I ve asked for a replacement she stated it wasn’t possible. Warranty is not a normal one because I have a finance car and I need a lot of things on need to pay for and my other bill are good but the car is getting older and it’s going to need to be fix! DOUGLAS ALBERTO September 8, 2024 2013 ford fusion ecoboost Qualified or not? Kevin September 8, 2024 Well I had a 2017 escape ecoboost I had to get an extended warranty? 3 months after getting it I had to start taking in and they just replaced the spark plugs after the 4 time i said theres something wrong with it. It will cost 🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑 to tear it down So replaced the check the spark plug and the coil oh well week or 2 later Dies won’t start, starts drives like a crashing airplane across the intersection to a gas station where I can leave it for the night. Exact same problem 62000 miles took 8 months for them to replace the engine because they had to use both warrantys so they just couldn’t get it in one piece . I just traded it in and ther going to do it to someone else I never got anything on the engine needing to be replaced and new nothing about a lawsuit about the eco sport engines Andy September 8, 2024 After 10 minutes? He drove 10 minutes AFTER the oil pressure light came on??? Well yeah, it’s gonna lock up! The light is red for a reason! Red means STOP! SMH… Jeff September 8, 2024 This happened to me. Oil light came on. Shut it down. Started it later that day and ran for a few minutes before the engine seized. It had 48,000 miles on it but I was the second owner so I had no warranty. It was going to be $5000 to replace the engine. I ended up paying off the $5500 I owed on it taking a big loss. A dealership gave me $1000 for the car with the blown engine. Ralph September 8, 2024 I have a 2018 Ford Edge that the motor went bad at 63,000 miles .I heard that the motor was bad since 2014 1 2 Older Comments Share Your CommentsFirst Name*Last NameEmail* Shared Comments*This field is hidden when viewing the formI authorize the above comments be posted on this page Yes No Post Comment I authorize the above comments be posted on this page Weekly Digest Opt-In Yes, send me a weekly email with the latest lawsuits, recalls and warnings.
