Failure was Jan 2023. Bedroom construction was in 1971 when original thermostat was installed. My supply line 240 volt wire is 10 AWG while the CT410B uses 12 AWG wire. Honeywell CT410B spec for is 5280 watts and 22 amps – my bedroom radiant ceiling heat cable is rated at 4000 watts (16 X 16 feet bedroom). Odor of melting plastic housing and wire plastic insulation melting alerts one to a problem. Also, on-off bar broke in two pieces during the last failure. I’ve purchased another CT410B as an interim solution to get bedroom heat, until I can find a more robust 240V thermostat. I’ve noted on-off bar material on just-purchased appears to have been changed, now a silver appearance versus 2022 unit copper type color. Will January 8, 2023 I have also just had a negative experience with a Honeywell thermostat nearly setting fire to my home. If it wasn’t for the fact that the electrical box was made of metal, we would be working with an insurance adjuster right now for damages. Glad we had a breaker that worked as it should and kicked before a complete disaster occurred. I was not aware of the recall, had I know I would have replaced them. I had purchased several about a year ago with plans to replace the old dial ones original to the house. Glad my life was to busy to complete this task. I guess I will be getting refunds for those if possible. Mo February 16, 2022 Honeywell thermostat almost burnt my house down Colin March 10, 2019 I have installed a new RVL430 thermostat in my bedroom to replace an old themostat. When the room reaches the temperature set it keeps cycling every 15 to 20 seconds. Is this normal? I have the same theromastat in my living room that I installed several years ago and it does not operate like this. Is thei something wrong with this unit?
