Platform Bed Frame Recall Issued Following 100 Reports Of Collapses

Federal safety officials have announced a recall of more than 82,000 bed frames which may be prone to break and collapse, creating a risk of severe injury or death for children, pets or others that may become trapped.

The HR Platform Frame recall was announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on March 17, following more than 100 reports by consumers indicating the bed frames collapsed.  No injuries or deaths have been reported to date.

The problems have been lined HR Platform bed frames sold under the “Bed Tech” brand, including Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, and Cal King sizes. The bed frames have steel bars which are black and have blue plastic clips. Each product has a 14-digit serial number which begins with HR, which is located on an outside leg. The specific model numbers are HR33, HR33XL, HR46, HR50, HR60, and HR66.

Sandra, my mother is an attorney and I showed her this and it sounds like it is a safety hazard and you do have any lawsuit on your hands. It's a liability issue also. So please contact an attorney and go forward with your issues about the bed frame

I purchased one of the defective frames on September 9, 2020. When I was notified of the recall I asked for a refund because I have no other bed and I don't trust the repair kit solution to make the frame safe. The store representative refused and would not even send anyone to help me install the brackets.
