I have a Mazda Cx-7 with a turbo engine. When I first bought my car in 2011 I had no problems beside some black smoke coming out of the tail pipes. Since then I received about ten recalls for the moon roof and one for the timing chain. I held on to the recalls like it said. About a few months ago I started to hear this loud noise coming from the engine. I thought it was my oil so I had my Dad change my oil. The noise wouldn’t go away. Till one day my car just stopped working. I notified Mazda and I brought in. They told me that I had many problems and one of them was the timing chain. They told me because I don’t have proof on paper of an oil changes they will not honor the recall. They told me I have over $5000.00 worth of damage. I only one $4000.00 left on my car. This is ridiculous I know they are just trying to get out of paying for the damage on my car and making up other damages.

2009 Mazda 3 Engine blown at 120K miles , doing regular oil change for every 3k miles , no oil light never came on and my engine blown while driving on HWY .Really hope to get in on this lawsuit to get my 4k back for the new motor.

I Baugh my cusens 2003 mazda 6 S 3.0l with a 177,000 miles on it back in 2013. I am a GM and Chrysler technician and not very fond of Ford for a number of reasons. But I got it off him because it was cheap, in great shape and was missing on cylinder 3. He took it in to the shop and the techs their said all coil overs need to be replaced… the cost was more then he wanted to spend. So, I replace all the coils and all was fine. Changed the oil also and have all of his records of oil changes since new. I drove the car for about a 100 miles when the engine started ticking and shortly after, the ticking went away. I was unable to diagnose the issue since it did not return. A few miles later, it started to miss again and when I got it back home found number 5 cylinder misfiring. So I replaced that coil over figuring I got a bum coil. All was fine and drove to work the next day. Well, I didn’t make it. Without warning the engine started to loose power and when I pulled over on the express way it was knocking bad. I shut off the engine checked the oil and it was fine. Started it back up to get off the express way since I was at the exit and bam! Number 6 cylinder went threw the bottom of the pan. So, I got an engine out of a 2009 Mercury Milan with 61,000 miles on it and put it in. I also replaced the cats, which this car has 4 of them and they are prone to failing. All was good and after a couple of hundred miles, boom! It happened again. This time it started to tick and miss and the engine only lasted a few miles after. After ivestigating the possible cause. The only thing I can come up with is the pcm has a bad program causing the catalytic converters to melt causing excessive back pressure and internal cylender heat build up causing a catastrophic engine failure. I’m now parting the car out to try to regain some of the lost cost. What a piece of junk, not the car but the ford engine.

i own a mazda 6 2.3 2005. The first engine blew at 30000 miles. The car ran completely out of oil without any oil light. i had the engine replaced with a used one with about 50,000 miles on it. This engine burned about a quart of oil every 1000 miles, and would never show a low oil light. i continued to add oil and nursed it for another 20000 miles before the engine hydrolocked from all the oil in the cylinder. this broke the valves and seized this engine. I had the engine pulled out and rebuilt by a machine shop. This seemed to work for a while, but the engine has now started burning a quart of oil every 2000 miles or so. Im expecting this one to blow the same way it did last time when i get to a quart every 1000 miles. its like a ticking time bomb. I also have to shut the car off on the highway and restart in neutral to get the transmission to unlock from third gear. Ive almost swerved of the road and died from the shock of it slamming into third at 60 mph. This car is a death trap!!! I will gladly testify for a lawsuit.

These matters are very defective so that has 100,000 miles all mirrors are going bad they were having pistons slaps after that happens people still drive the car up causing the rod to go through the block yes I believe Mazda should be held liable for all these matters that were put in Mazda six because of cheap parts internal also I have all the cars I hit 300,000 miles and never had this problem Maza six hits 100,000 to 120,000 and motor goes bad yes I am getting a lawyer for the class action lawsuit on Mazda anyone who wants to contact me my number is 856-246-2682 thanks

I have a Mazda five. No warning lights came on and oil wasn’t low engine is blown also. 93,453 miles on it. And still owe the bank $6,000 dollars.

Is this still valid? I have a Mazda 6 2006 and I’ve had almost $2,000 of repairs and it’s still jumpy and barely running.

I GOT A MAZDA 5 SPORT 5SPEED MANUAL IN OCTOBER AND JUST HAD TO HAVE THE ENGINE REPLACED. IT COULD NOT HOLD OIL, AND DID MAKE THAT TICKING NOISE WHEN YOU WOULD START IT. I REALLY HOPE TO GET IN ON THIS LAWSUIT TO GET MY 7K BACK FOR THE NEW MOTOR.

I bought my car Mazda cx7 2008 on 2013 from the dealer in Avery good condition. It looks nice and big inside. Last week while I was driving the smooke scared me and I have to call fire department, I thought the car gonna burn. The mechanic changed the oil and some other stuf, but the engine still burning and they think the engine is gone now. Still at the garage and still I have to pay a lot of many for its expensive price. I am in a real problem. My mechanic advice me before to get rid of this car and sell it, but I felt not comfortable as I may trick somebody else. I hope if there is a lawsuit for this common cases for the Mazda.

The engine in my 2006 Mazda 5 just blew. i was having oil and yes knocking problems at start up to since day one. It is used. The people i bought it from said it was fine but 3 mouth later i have no car. Can you help me i can’t work with out a car.

The motor on my speed6 blew this saturday (rod broke in two parts leaving the hole in the block), and it’s the second time this year!!! The first motor blew in april…

Let me start out by saying, I am a 2007 Cx7 Madza vehicle driver not a mechanic. When I purchased this vehicle in December of 2006 I really liked the car and cared for it in expectation I would have it years after it was paid off. I did all oil changes and maintenance required (even more than usual because I drove a lot of highway miles with my job at the time) 3k-5k came very quickly. Long story shorten fast forward to 2013 when all my issues started after the warranty expired or miles driven past coverage (yes I’ve gotten good years out this vehicle) but here’s where I think Mazda service took advantage of a female Mazda car driver (yes 90% of the services performed was Mazda service center and the other 10% was AAA (? That’s another story). Because what the service people I needed to do I did maintenance wise. Oil leaking, tune up’s, and in 2015 replacing the turbo. There was many more issues but these are some of the major big ticket repairs. I was told before replacing the turbo had to test the engine first and if it past the turbo would be replaced. According to the service guys engine was good and so the turbo was replaced but less than 4 months later the engine needs replacing (3rd cylinder is misfiring which has been the noted problem since the turbo was replaced and the oil drains) I can not afford to replace the engine or purchase another vehicle. The service guys had to know of the issues Mazda vehicles had but kept taking my money to repair things that the Mazda/Ford company has known about for years. I don’t know if any of this makes any sense but I too will never purchase another MAZDA PRODUCT!!!!!!!!

This has to be one of the worst weeks on record. This past week I have been doing everything I possibly could to get rid of the rattling in this engine, I threw everything but the kitchen sink at it. I had regular oil changes to no avail. I have spoken with mechanic after mechanic about losing oil but they cant seem to find where it is going or coming from. This vehicle has been nothing but trouble since the first day I bought it home in 2012. The transmission shifted hard from 5th to 4th after running a while and then would go away only to come back every time I WASN’T with the mechanic. Engine light on off on off on off…What the?!! So lets talk about in the END… I was driving to get my sons this past Friday approximately 39 miles to be exact and when I got to Mile 38 I turned the radio down and it sounded like a Tasmanian Devil was inside the motor trying to get OUT!!! Pulled into a Mechanics shop right off the exit and they too confirmed the motor was toast and was also a quart low AGAIN in oil!! So now I have a car that is no longer a car but now a pricey lawn ornament that still has payments left on it and here Mazda sits back and listens to pretty much everyone saying that it is user error!! REALLY mazda? We all have the same ERROR! Look around at all the different sites if you type in “MAZDA ENGINE NOISE” See what you get. A LOT OF ANGRY AND NON RETURNING CUSTOMERS!!! And I am one of them!! Piece of Junk is what you sold us. I had to start a GOFUNDME account because of this! I dont have the money to buy another motor and what sense would that make anyway when all you will do is give me another crappy product to replace the old crappy product! USELESS! I bought a 2008 CX7 from a car Max with about 18,000miles on it. shortly after the engine light went on. took it to he dealership in Fresno and they changed the gas cap charging me. the light went back on after not long. eventually my car started to produce this really white smoke that scared me and the other drivers on the road. I received the recall letter for the valve and white smoke due to an oil leak in the turbo and allegedly they changed my turbo. They also state now that they updated it at the time (my personal mechanic asked them). Now 2 years later I have the exact same problem and they refuse to fix it because is no longer under warranty (in spite the fact the problem it’s the same and it just hasn’t been fixed). Now I have documentation available, and the sequence of the narrative is not exact at this moment (as I’m currently not looking at the dates). I think Mazda needs to replace my turbo or my car at this point as all this oil dripping in the turbo may have damaged the catalytic converter, but first and foremost this dangerous!

2007 Mazda 5 blown engine 100,000 kilometers

I have a 2007 mazda 3 with under 100k noted a ticking noise from the motor. Changed oil regularly and notched had to keep adding oil but didn’t show any signs of it leaking out anywhere. Long story short the engine blew, broken pistons putting 3 holes in the block. I think mazda needs to replace it since they knew about the vvt problem

I have a 2013 Mazda 6 and it has less than 50,000 miles was driving home in the early morning and the engine blew no warning no nothing at all now Mazda is saying that there was not enough oil in my car. I asked them to put that in writing because my next oil change is not until 51,000 miles the oil light never came on nothing. Mazda refuse to say that the people that did the oil change is at fault and they don’t want to give me a new engine. Mazda is a rip off I will never purchase another car from them.

I purchased a 2007 Mazda Tribute 2 years ago with 60K miles on it. We have only put a total of 12K miles on it since then. It started ticking and 4 days later was told we needed to replace the entire engine. No rhyme-no reason as to why. The Mazda dealership we purchased it from had no answers & because we didn’t have oil changes done there said we have no recourse. VERY angry and upset to read this story now.

We bought our 2008 Mazda 6 in 2011. Car ran well until 2014 when we started hearing the infamous tick. In February 2015 the engine failed, blown piston rod. Powertrain covered it. Had it replaced with a rebuilt with 65k on it. Reg oil changes and maintenance in both engines, but today 11/06/2015 without warning, the engine failed again with the same issue. Blew the rod through the bottom of the motor. Biggest pos I have ever purchased. I will NEVER buy a Mazda again.

I checked my oil and it did not show it was low, had it checked at servie center and it needed 1 quart, which was added, 2 days later the engine is blown. Need new engine

I bought my 2011 Mazdaspeed 3 in December of 2010. I had zero issues with oil loss until December of 2014, and after hearing an odd hollow sound while starting the car at work, I stopped by the local Auto Zone to check the oil. There was no oil on the dipstick. I bought a quart, put it in, and it was still not showing. In the end I was 4 quarts low. Since then I’ve averaged loosing a quart of oil per 500 miles and have no idea why. All the lemon law alerts sound like what I am dealing with. Help?

my 2008 mazda 3 clicks, too and the engine mounts break,even after a TSB is released.

we bought this car in august 2013…took it in on the MS Coast in 2014 for the motor recall….it had 70 something thousand miles…they said it was not covered….the chain broke in April 2015…new motor….I have invoice

i have 2007 Mazda cx 7 .i got it with 65000 miles . i brought it in Nov 2012 and ever since i got this vehicle its been a nightmare , i had the cooling system replace the second day i had this vehicle in which the dealer fix it at there expense , but my car was there for 3 weeks .i did my frist payment and i still had the changes to drive the car.in which i was thinking they were just buying time on my 3 month they gave me to fix any issue i had with the vehicle. i did purchuse the extend warranty and the frist week that i got the car i know my warrenty already has pay for itself. .so the cooling system got replace.so i go and pick up my car thinking thats every is good.nope i had to take the car back because my engine light was on, so they keep my car for 2 week more .they couldnt figuer out what was wrong with the car so they told me to drive the car n if the light goes back on to bring the car back, so i just drive off the lot and i hear a funny noise that sound it like chains running throw the motor ,i took it back and they check it n found the problem it was my high pressure fuel pump so that got replace.so i drove the car for 3 month with on issue then i started to hear a noise on the motor like a value ticking so i took the car back and they said that its the high pressure fuel pump that makes that noise.so i left it at that. a couple month pass and my car stated to blow smoke throw my tailpipe so i took the car back and they told me it was the ventilation so they told me i had to replace my crankshaft in which my extend warranty didn’t cover so i replace that .took my car home n two weeks the problem with the smoke from the tailpipe came back ,so i took it back to the dealer where i got the car from and they couldn’t figure out the problem. so at this point i was thinking that my crankshaft didn’t had to be replace in the first place. two weeks pass n they had my car n they finally call me and told me i had to replace my turbo .so my turbo got replace this year march 2015 now we in Oct 22 and my car is in the shop now. i went in for an oil change and i told the service guy that i hear a noise in the motor that i been having that noise since i got the car in 2012. but everyone told me it was the fuel pump or they say the noise is normal in that vehicle .he told me no that noise u hear is ur timing belt,so my car been in the shop for week now n today he call me and told me that my car should be ready in a couple of hours ,then he call me and told me that the belt was replace but now my car is back firing and he thinks its a injector so now i have another problem with this car. now i have to wait to see if my extend warranty would cover that problem and guess what next month my warranty expires and im out of luck not like i had it with the car.im gonna try to get the warranty again because i know this wont be the end of getting this pieces of shit repair.i advice anyone trying to buy this vehicle not to buy it .not unless u have lots of money to spend on repair ..i just want to know if there any lawsuit against Mazda?

Purchased 08 Mazda CX-7 April 23, 2015 from a family friend’s lot back in my home town, 80 miles from my current residence. The car was pre-owned with one owner. During the test drive – I FELL IN LOVE! I have a 3 year old, so the cabin was roomy, the four doors were easy to drive, it was an SUV but handled like a sports car. LOVED IT! I get the vehicle home, park it in my garage (my house just turned 10 years old so the garage has never had fluids on it) I pull out the next morning, return home for lunch with a friend to notice that there is oil on the floor of my garage. I immediately call the dealer I purchased it from, they ask me to drive 80 miles back home to return it so they can have their shop look at it. Driving back home, I heard this knocking noise from the engine & I notice an issue while driving it – having replaced 3 timing chains/belts on previous cars, I told the dealer I wanted the timing chain replaced and the engine checked over. After three weeks, I get my car back. They determined the oil leak was an improper OEM seal in the drain pan, there was a sprocket in the oil pan AND they replaced the timing chain for me… Luckily, the dealer was nice enough to cover these charges. I drive the vehicle from the middle of May 2015 until September with NO issues! Again, LOVING the CX-7! Labor Day Weekend 2015, I noticed that when I turn the vehicle off, the fan is still running and I’m smelling fluids burning… That’s when I noticed once again, the oil is leaking and leaking. I returned to work the Tuesday after Labor Day, get in the car with a coworker for a quick coffee run and while driving – I turn the AC on since it was 90 degrees outside, only to feel hot air blowing out. I look down at my temperature gauge to see the car is over-heating! I take the care to a Mom & Pop repair shop in my city. They take a couple of days to diagnose the car & tell me the head gasket needs to be replaced, a $2100 fix. Luckily, I had purchased an extended warranty and my warranty company was going to cover $2000 of the cost – Thinking it was a quick fix, I thought Shoo WEE! So, the mechanics work on the vehicle for 3 weeks (the awesome mechanics managed to bend the head gasket valve because it wasn’t in time, they also couldn’t get the car back in time, waiting for parts, ect.) After incurring more costs, radiator, pulley bolt, and labor – new total of $2400, I picked the vehicle up on 9/30/15 being told they had replaced all the above AND fixed the oil leak by draining a new drain whole in the oil pan & putting an oversize OEM bolt in. On October 1, 2015 – I had a business trip to take, which was 100 miles from my residence. I arrived to my destination, was idling and noticed my temperature gauge was going up!!!! Obviously, the car went RIGHT back into the shop. On October 2, 2015 – I called the shop. They said that they’ve sent the head gasket back to the machine shop to check for leaks/bent valves, ect. On Monday, 10/5/15 – I call the shop again… He informs me a rivet wasn’t sealed properly but he was putting the car back together. That same day, the mechanic calls me to let me know that the car busted a radiator hose and I couldn’t pick it up until Wednesday. On Wednesday, 10/7/15 – I call… The mechanic then tells me the car has blown yet ANOTHER head gasket… So on Friday 10/9/15 – the mechanic tells me that he is getting the car back together and on Saturday 10/10/15, I can pick it up. So, Saturday morning, I call him… He says he’s doing a test drive & he will get an underbody wash done and then I can pick it up that afternoon. On Saturday around 13:30, the mechanic calls and says the car blew a radiator this time & he couldn’t find one to get that day, he’d need until Monday. After realizing that sugar gets further than vinegar, I try to be patient and understanding. I called him on Monday, 10/12/15 at 17:00 – he told me he’s getting the radiator put in right then and there & would have it done in an hour. At 18:30 I called him, he said he’s going to test drive it, he’s had it idling and I should be able to get it very soon. At 19:45, he calls me and tells me that the car is fine while it’s idling but when he drives it, the temp gauge rises…. He now believes that it is the turbo that has caused ALL these issues. My warranty covers $3000 total, I’ve used $2000 on claim one, and a turbo can be highly expensive – which means money out of my pocket. I’m a working mother with a three year old child, no child support, no additional help from any organization. I’ve had this car in the shop for what seems like more than I’ve actually gotten to drive it. If anyone has any info on a class action lawsuit, please let me know. I’d really like to be apart of this.

i bought an 2008 CX7 with 138k,, 2.3 turbo engine, and it was running fine with no noticable noises at auction, then started driving home and the engine quit after 12 miles, at this point Im not sure if was the VVT going out or a coolant leak, but master tech says only reasonable way to repair is replace engine with new (crazy like 6000 cost or surprise, LKQ is getting 3000 or more for a “Good” used engine. DOes anyone now if the 2.5 L is better, ?? i know im on my own cause of the miles and year, but it sure is gonna be an expensive mistake….

I own a 2012 mazda 5 vehicle Most of these comments sounfd very Familiar I was exiting Interstate 10 at Hwy 603 driving from Diamondhead Ms to Bay St Louis As I drove off the interstate toward the stoplite at Hwy 603 I heard a slioght whirring sound and noticed that the engine light was on I turned left at the light onto Hwy 603 and the engine died and the lights on the dashboard all lit up. By then the car was coasting to a stop I managed to get almost off of 603 and with some help from a woman In aclosed service station was able to park the car By this time 2 men came to assist us to push the car off the hwy. there was absolutely no power at this tim and I had trouble steering the vehicle One of the men checked the oil and said that the oil was completely emptyI had my oil changed and checked on Seot 23rd 2015 and today is the 28th I have kept up with oil changes sinc I bought the vehicle the last change was at Northbay Auto in Diamondhe4ad Have used the Oustalet Mazda dealer for most oil changes since owning this car. The car is still under warranty with a total of 59000 plus mileage. I would appreciate beingh added to the class action suit .Spoke to the Service mgr at the dealership and they seemed to say that Northbay Auto seemed to be liable for the repairs Friends suggest that I may need legal HelpSo please advise have noty yet obtained an estimate of what this might cost Lynn cheramie Diamondhead Ms

Please someone help me! My tubo went out as I am driving 80 MPH on the toll with my child in the car 🙁 Happy I knew to pull over and put on my flashers. To knocked me down to 25-30 MPH out of no where. I can’t afford $2500-$3500 to fix it. They want me to pay $350 just to have them look at it as a maybe they will help me. I cant afford that 🙁 I love this car! My FIRST car on my own! It is/was a great car! Please any help would be nice! Praying!

I bought 2007 Mazda CX-7 with 66000 Miles, did not see any turbocharger oil leaking until changed the oil, the engine light is on, the power lost. The repair cost is over $2000, I am suffering . Can not believe such poor quality because of the defect of turbocharger. Mazda only warrant 60000 miles because they knew it. Such shame!

I bought a 2012 mazda 5 with 35000 miles on it..i took it to mazda for a ticking sound in my engine that i started to hear…of course they told me it was normal for mazda to sound like that..i have had all my routine oil changes with the receipts…at 62000 miles i was driving down the freeway in the fast lane when all of the sudden my car started jerking and my check engine light came on and started blinking and then my car completely shut down almost causing a huge accident…luckily i was able to get to the side of the road…i had it towed to mazda and now their telling me that I have to get a new engine..after fighting with them they told me if i had all my receipts for my oil changes they would fix it because they were blaming me that i didn’t get my recommended oil changes..i gave them all my receipts including the one when i brought it to mazda for the ticking sound..they are now telling me that they will not cover it all but they will put a new engine in and i have to pay 25% of the cost which would be 1500.. im a single mom of 3 and live paycheck to paycheck and dont have 1500 to spend…my mother then called them and the manager said he would call corporate again and see if he can get it lowered…i believe their playing games with me and trying to negotiate a price which isn’t right because they should be replacing it for free since it was their faulty engine.

I bought a 2007 mazda 3 hatchback from carmax in march 2009 with 23000 miles on it. Took it to monro brake and muffler for the first oil change. 3 months to the day after the oil change at monro the engine blew completely. Took the car to a different monro station close to where it blew up. The service tech there told me that the car had zero oil in it because whoever did the oil change cracked and damaged the oil filter cartridge housing and that’s why the engine blew up because it had a slow oil leak due to the damaged housing. He also informed me that monro had received a TSB concerning this issue that not using the correct tool would damage the housing and cause this problem. Realizing that they were responsible, monro paid for a used replacement engine. All of the repair, including locating an engine and changing it was done through Connecticut’s Own Mazda. This was the summer of 2009. From that day forward Connecticut’s Own Mazda has done every bit of service to my vehicle. Every schedule oil change, brakes, light bulbs, you name it. In April of 2014 the car started making unfavorable engine noises. It was only 1000 miles into its last oil change. So I took it to the Mazda dealership only to be told that these things just happen and I would need a new engine soon. I repeatedly asked the question, “How does this happen on a vehicle that is serviced regularly by the dealership? “No one could give me an answer. They just kept saying “These things happen.” Not being satisfied AT ALL with the answer I contacted Mazda USA who contacted the dealership and then so graciously informed me that that there was NOTHING they could do to help me because my vehicle was “Out of Warranty”. However if I wanted to purchase a Brand New Engine for close to $6,000 they would take $1,000 off of the price but that was it. Of course this did not include the almost $2,500 installation charge that the dealership wanted to charge me. It gets worse but I don’t have time for it all right now. Since all of this I have paid out of pocket (with receipts and bank statements to prove it ) over $4,000 to fix my vehicle through a private mechanic, no thanks to Mazda at all. And on top of that, the power steering is leaking everywhere immediately after the engine rebuild. Mazda is AWFUL. I have researched this issue extensively and found that there are many people with this issue. When I informed Mazda of this they only said; “There is no problem with our 2.3 liter engine and would not stand behind it AT ALL. Something should be done about it and Mazda should be held responsible. Please feel free to use my comments and, or contact me directly. 2005 Mazda 6i, check engine light came on, oil was slightly low, added some, no problems further and a week later the engine blows. Less than 100,000 miles and impossible to find another used motor. My guess is because they ALL blow up!

How do i get involved with this lawsuit. Mazda refused to cover my turbocharger when it failed at 83k and ive put $1000s more into this car than its worth. The engine continues to fail and i want to look into getting my money back.

Have already spent 6k plus for another engine due to “slug” when I provided oil change recieptes under extended warranty. Now Im having the same issue with the second engine,please help!

My wife’s 2006 mazda 3 started making rattle noise upon starting engine about a week ago. She had oil changed yesterday and technicians easily pinpointed problem to be be vvt failure. Obviously they were sent communication to this defective part. They want to charge $2300.00 to repair this issue and told my wifeshe would be better off just yto buy a new car. We bought our 2007 Mazda CX7 in May 2015. Clean carfax report, test drove perfect, great shape and the car dealership made us believe this was an immaculate vehicle. We has the CX7 for 5 days when the timing chain failed!!!!!! We called the dealership and they wouldn’t help is at all! We purchased the extended warranty only to be told that the dealership we bought the vehicle from not only knew there was a problem with the timing chain, they also reported to the warranty company to see if they could get it replaced before the dealership sold it. So that meant the warranty we bought was already void because it was now considered a “pre existing condition!” We had to pay $1200.00 to have the timing chain fixed. After we got the vehicle back, within 3 days, the check engine light started coming on. Code reader would call for different sensors to be replaced. After replacing all sensors, the vehicle began to be very difficult to start. Turns out, the EGR valve was completely plugged up. So we replaced that and low and behold, I’ve drive my CX7 for 3 weeks without any problems……… Until today…… Driving home from work, I pressed the gas pedal and the awful eat wining noise started and the power in the engine decreased by about half……. Now it’s sitting in the driveway in need of a new turbo!!!!!! I haven’t even owned this CX7 for 100 days!!!! This was my first mazda and I can assure you it will be my LAST!!!! I can’t believe all these problems and Mazda knew all along and kept selling and have not issues recalls!!!

Vehicle: 2007 Mazda CX7. 60k miles. It began to make the rattle sound at start up. Right away, I asked the local Mazda dealer about it and they said it was a normal sound for Mazdas. They wanted to charge me just to look at it and diagnose the car since my warranty has now expired. I took it to my local mechanic who stated that it was the Actuator / timing chain; and no it is not a normal sound. Without fixing it, I would have a dead engine in time. I did not wait long to get it fixed. Within 2 weeks, my parts arrived and took it in for fixing. After replacing all new parts, the rattle noise is now gone. I purchased a timing kit that has all new parts and the VVT Actuator. However, the check engine light comes on and the engine runs sluggish. It appears that the car/engine does not want to be in-time. My car has been in with the mechanic shop for almost 2 weeks now. My mechanic stated he has taken the engine apart 4 times now and cannot find the issue now with the timing or why it will not hold timing. Is this issue fixable? or is my car now a big piece of metal?

It’s been six months and four days since I purchased my 2007 Mazda Cx7 used with 111k miles. Two weeks in failed VVT. VVT and timing chain replaced May 2015 and now two days ago, my turbocharger has failed. I’m stuck bcs of course there’s no warranty, I do not see any information on this site of the state of this class action lawsuit, and most importantly, I’m left with decided should I pay for the Turbocharger to be repaired or cut my loss and get a another car with a car note.

I own a Mazda 3 2007 with 126k and I have just started getting the rattle noise and I keep my car in excellent working condition with oil changes every 3500-500 (depending on driving conditions) and it looks like this is a common defect with these engines. I tried to contact the Lawyer on the CERTIFICATION OF SERVICE PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 56:8-20 but maybe someone on here has more information? Please advise. Regards.

I have owned 2-CX7 over the last 9 years. I complained about the noise described with the timing chain that Mazda doesn’t want to admit to in both car’s.Both times I took the cars to Mazda dealer they said everything sounds normal. Recently within the last 3-months I was driving on the highway when all of a sudden I hear this whining noise and no power on any incline. I made it home about 40 miles and called my extended warranty company. They said they wouldn’t cover any engine problem because my last oil change was more the 7500 miles. I was at the station where I get work done on my cars and they told me their cousin had the same problem and Mazda didn’t admit that there was a problem with the turbo going and the timing chain but they repaired it for her. I called Mazda and they didn’t admit there was a problem but they did replace the turbo and timing chain at no cost except I had to pay $700 in rental fee’s. If there is no problem why are they so fast to replace these parts that cost about $6000 to replace. Two days ago I just came home from driving all day, shut my car off and within 5-minutes my engine was engulfed in flame. The car was destroyed. Now I have been told about this law suit and boy was I lucky not to have been driving when this happened. I’m wondering if anyone else’s car has caught fire. The insurance company towed the car and is going to do an inspection to see what might have caused this. My guess is that Mazda is hiding something and until enough people get hurt or die, then they will admit to it. Why do people have to get hurt and die for these huge company’s to come forward with the truth. That’s why they should pay and pay big time.

07 MazdaSpeed 3. Im at 82,XXX miles and about 10k miles ago i had to pay to have the timing chain and tensioner replaced.$1,600!! I’ve always heard the ticking noise some describe but the dealership swore it was nothing. It started having a problem with oil consumption as well as smoke out the tail pipe. Then the other week it decided to give out and start running like crap. According to the mechanic oil started pouring into the 3rd cylinder and cause my whole motor to go to crap. I get online looking for engine swap inf and I run across this article. Every problem I have encountered seems to be traceable back to the problem at hand caused by Mazda. My question is, has anything came of this lawsuit and if so, is there anything i can do to help the process of getting my car fixed. I would really like to not have to pay/perform an engine swap at my own expense if there’s a chance that Mazda is at fault. So, any hope for help here?

cx7 2007, the sequence of events follows the same pattern, turbo goes then the timing chain then the engine went, after about $3,000 in repairs at the dealer. $1,300 just for the timing chain

Purchased a used 2007 Mazda CX-7 from a dealership in my hometown, pottsville. Within 24 hours I had problems. It was in the dealerships service dept more than i had it myself. There were engine issues, al eak in the door seal, window malfunctions, etc. After a month of fighting with the dealership they told me that it was my fault and I chose a bad vehicle and I was stuck with it. A year later on my wayto a Mazda dealership to have it inspected the check engine light comes on. The Mazda dealership service dept. tells me it’s the timing chain and vvf issue and said it a $1,500-2,200 job and that there was an expired warranty and they would see if there was anything they could do. Needless to say I never heard from them again after repeated phones calls and am still stuck with this vehicle.

I bought my Mazda CX7 2008 2.3 liter Aug 2012. 5 Weeks after purchase my air compressor goes and causes a fire. 1800 dollars later it is fix. And this was at 78,000 miles. March 2013 I was driving the POS vehicle going 35 miles and BOOM there was a loud noise, sounded like a shotgun went off in the cabin of the car. I lost power steering , lost power etc. I got the car pulled off the side of the road and I noticed a oil slick about 80 yards long behind my car. Mind you the mileage is only @ 101,000, & I have always maintained my vehicle since I purchased It , oil change every 5000 miles and I have every record pertaining to maintenance to the POS Mazda. I started walking the oil slick to where It started, I noticed chunks of metal in the road and I picked it up… The chunks of metal were my oil pan that blew apart from the rods in the motor coming apart in the motor. I take my car to a shop for them to figure out what happened. Apparently my motor blew 3 rods…. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE WHEN YOU MAINTAIN THE VEHICLE ???? Mazda AKA Ford built a horrible vehicle and they know it but yet they wont do one thing. I bought my car used , I still owe on it. (3600) I just finished paying off the new motor As of today I have bought : * new motor ($3600) * new oil pan ( $100.00) * new starter (100.00 * new temp sensor ($50.00) * new turbo ($1,200) Such bullshit that myself and others have to go through this, when we bought our vehicles we thought we were going with a good manufacturer but nope. Mazda/ Ford does nothing. Bravo, I WILL NEVER BY A MAZDA AGAIN OR A FORD.
