Toys R Us Huffy Tricycle Recall Issued Over Crash Risk

Over 5,000 tricycles sold exclusively at Toys R Us have been recalled due to problems where the handlebar may loosen during use, posing a crash and fall hazard for children using the product.

The Toys R Us Slider Tricycle recall was announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on April 17, indicating that the handle bar may unexpectedly become loose, causing the rider to lose steering control. To date, no injuries related to the tricycles have been reported.

The recall includes 20-inch Slider Tricycles equipped with three wheels. The products have model number “98682” located on the frame under the seat. The tricycles have a white frame, a black seat, handlebars with “Huffy” printed on the front of the frame and “Slider” printed on the side of the frame.
