Baby Hammock Recall and Williams-Sonoma Baby Bottle Recall Issued August 25, 2010 Staff Writers Add Your CommentsFederal regulators have announced recalls for two baby products with potential defects that could pose a risk of serious injury. On Tuesday, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a Williams-Sonoma baby bottle warmer recall and a baby hammock recall by MamaLittleHelper LLC.The bottle warmer recall was announced after Williams-Sonoma received 10 reports of the bottles overheating and one minor burn. The recall affects 11,000 Beaba Express Steam Bottle Warmers by Williams-Sonoma Inc. The bottle warmers are green with orange temperature dials, have “Beaba” printed on the base and also have a model number of 9602 printed on the bottom of the warmer. The bottle warmers were sold at Williams-Sonoma stores nationwide, through Williams-Sonoma catalogs and on the company’s website from June 2010 through July 2010 for about $65.Do You Know about…Spinal Cord Stimulator lawsuitsSpinal cord stimulator lawsuits are being investigated for individuals who suffered unnecessary shocks, burns or other problems, often resulting in the need for additional surgery to remove the SCS.Learn MoreSEE IF YOU QUALIFY FOR COMPENSATIONDo You Know About…Spinal Cord Stimulator lawsuitsSpinal cord stimulator lawsuits are being investigated for individuals who suffered unnecessary shocks, burns or other problems, often resulting in the need for additional surgery to remove the SCS.Learn MoreSEE IF YOU QUALIFY FOR COMPENSATIONThe baby hammock recall was issued due to two different problems; MamaLittleHelper received reports of the hammocks being unbalanced and possibly posing a suffocation hazard, with one two-month-old baby found crying face down rolled up in a side corner, and there was also a report of a four-month-old infant girl who fell out of a hammock after the metal stand broke. No infants have been seriously injured by the defective hammocks.About 500 Infant and Toddler Hammocks by MamaLittleHelper LLC. are included in this recall. The hammocks have a steel frame and a fabric hammock and mattress connected by a large spring, a safety rope, and a metal hanger. The hammocks have the model numbers 1010, 1020 and BL222. The BL222 models have a computerized rocker device.A handful of the 1010 and 1020 models have metal C-stands instead of the metal frames that were advertised. Those have also been recalled due to reports of the stands breaking. The baby hammocks were sold exclusively online at www.mamalittlehelper.com from December 2009 through February 2010 and cost about $100.The CPSC recommends that parents stop using these devices immediately. Williams-Sonoma customers can return the bottle warmers for a full refund and a $25 gift card. MamaLittleHelper customers can contact the company to receive a free repair kit for the 1010 and 1020 models, and a replacement hammock for the BL222 model.
