Risperdal Lawsuits Over Breast Growth in Boys Settled

An agreement was reached earlier this month to settle Risperdal lawsuits filed on behalf of five boys who alleged that they experienced unnatural male breast growth after taking the atypical antipsychotic. 

The Risperdal settlements were finalized on October 4, in Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, according to a report by Bloomberg News. However, no details have been made available about the amount of compensation paid for the male breast growth problems with Risperdal.

Johnson & Johnson faces about 100 product liability lawsuits over Risperdal breast growth side effects among boys. All of the complaints involves similar allegations that the drug maker failed to adequately research the medication or warn about the risk of breast growth among teen boys taking the antipsychotic.

In early September, it was reported that Johnson & Johnson settled a Risperdal breast growth lawsuit brought by a 21 year old, who alleged that the side effects caused him to suffer psychological trauma and undergo surgery to have the breasts removed. That settlement was reached before trial was to begin in the case, which was the first bellwether case scheduled to reach a jury.

Side effects of Risperdal have also been linked to an increased risk of significant weight gain, and in many cases doctors initially miss or dismiss signs of male breast growth, assuming it is connected to increases in weight.  However, surgical breast removal or reduction may be necessary in some cases due to the unnatural growth.

I took Risperidal for several years as an older boy/ pre-pubecsent-young teen male and had most definitely developed gynecomastia or male breasts amd yes, they absolutely hurt VERY MUCH and were tender without ever even having to have been touched and it caused me some pretty damn severe personal pain and trauma in my life and especially at that young of an age, I mean it was quite a bit confusing and discouraging to me honestly and I would ABSOLUTELY have to state and state quite clearly the clean and clear as glass transparent fact is that Risperidal has MOST DEFINITELY caused and will continue to cause life-long lasting self esteem/ image damage as well acute trauma for a time during a period in my life with which most of the damages that were caused to me by using prescribed relatively high-dose Risperidal treatment for ADHD/ ADD and other misc. “Behavioural Disabilities”had indeed occurred. It has and will continue to effect my life and my personal self image without a doubt until the day that I die….. I am 27 now and suffering from other various defects and conditions that were also caused by the unmarked and unspecified usage of potent anti-psychotics drugs to control anything in a range from Raglan (Metclapromide) stomache issues as an infant to this “Devil on trial” that I’m currently addressing, Risperidal for “unmarketed use” as I stated before, ADHD/ ADD- Behavioural Health treatment as a pre-pubecsent male. Sooooooo, after that whole mouthful novel of a statement I’m gonna have to close this whole this out by saying that I feel for and understand anyone else whether male or female, what they’re going through and that it is indeed hard to overcome as well as unfair and I absolutely believe that if you happen to be reading this (if anyone out there ever does) and you feel that you’ve been permanently maimed and/ or seriously harmed, damaged r disfigured by ANY PHARMACEUTICAL OR MEDICAL PROVIDERS OR CORPORATIONS, I absolutely urge you to IMMEDIATELY search for and look into possible lawsuits that you may be able to file under in order to obtain JUST and FAIR due compensation for your suffering, no matter how little that it may be being downplayed to be or others may hold it to be… Seriously and sincerely though folks, LOOK INTO IT AND MAKE YOUR VOICE TO BE HEARD as well! Sorry for the length of this statement and thank you for providing me with the available space to allow me to write out this gigantic novella of an essay!!!

MY SON WAS ON THIS MEDICATION FOR 4 YEARS HE IS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH HIS CHEST HE WILL NOT GO WITHOUT AN SHRIT ON IT IS A BIG PROBLEM .
