TenPoint and Wicked Ridge Crossbow Recall Issued Over Safety Problems May 19, 2015 Russell Maas Add Your Comments About 127,000 Ten Point and Wicked Ridge crossbows are being recalled following reports of problems with the safety mechanism, which suggest that the crossbow may fire under certain circumstances where the safety was on, posing a serious injury risk for users and bystanders. The TenPoint and Wicked Ridge crossbow recall was announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on May 18, following at least 19 consumer reports indicating the crossbows fired an arrow when the trigger was pulled after the safety mechanism was engaged. To date, no injuries have been reported. The crossbows are being recalled due to a potential unexpected firing hazard, which could severely harm or kill the user or others nearby. According to the CPSC, the safety mechanism may fail in these models, allowing arrows to be shot from the crossbow even when the safety is engaged.
