Golf Car Recalls Issued by Yamaha, E-Z-GO Over Injury Risks July 1, 2015 Russell Maas Add Your CommentsMore than 10,000 golf carts, shuttles and personal transportation vehicles are being recalled in separate actions by Yamaha and E-Z-GO, due to issues ranging from defective wheels to fuel leaks, which could pose an injury risk for riders and bystanders.ย The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the E-Z-GO golf cart, shuttle, and off-road utility vehicle recall on June 30, after internal reports indicated the gas tanks could leak, posing a fire hazard in the presence of an ignition source. To date no injuries or consumer complaints have been reported.The E-Z-GO recall includes about 8,200 gas powered TXT Fleet, Freedom TXT, TXT+2, Valor, Express, and Terrain golf carts as well as Cushman Shuttle vehicles with cargo beds. Vehicles with date code ranges between G2015 through L0515 are included in the recall and are located on a plate or label inside the cab below the driverโs seat. The first letter of the date code represents the month of production in sequence with G corresponding to January and L to May, with no โIโ included in the sequencing.
