Mighty Bliss Heating Pad Recall Issued Following Reports of Burns, Shocks and Other InjuriesMighty Bliss heating pad injuries have included burns, electric shocks and rashes. October 26, 2022 Martha Garcia Add Your CommentsFederal regulators are warning consumers not to use recalled “Mighty Bliss” electric heating pads, following several hundred reports of problems involving overheating, sparking, burning or experiencing other electrical problems, which have resulted in serious reported injuries among consumers. The Mighty Bliss heating pad recall was announced this week, impacting more than a half-million products sold since July 2021 on Amazon.com and Walmart.com.Following the announcement, the FDA issued a medical device safety communication, which urges consumers not to use the defective heating pads, indicating that the agency is aware of at least 286 consumer complaints, including at least 31 involving reported injuries, such as shocks, burns, rashes or other irritation. While neither the manufacturer, Whele, LLC (doing business as Perch), nor the FDA have described what is defective about the heating pads, it appears that design defects make the products prone to overheat or short circuit. As a result, the FDA is urging consumers who have the Mighty Bliss heating pad to immediately stop using them, warning that continuing to use the recalled electric heating pads can lead to electric shock, skin irritation, rashes, blisters, or burns. Severe burns may lead to skin infection or the formation of scar tissue. The agency also advises consumers who have the recalled heating pads to make sure they stay unplugged, safely cut the cord off the device, take a picture of the device to show it can no longer be used, and upload a picture of the device with the cord cut to the company recall website, www.mightyblissheatingpadrecall.expertinquiry.com to verify they have received the recall notification and upload the associated photos.Product reimbursement information can also be found on the same website.Do You Know about…Spinal Cord Stimulator lawsuitsSpinal cord stimulator lawsuits are being investigated for individuals who suffered unnecessary shocks, burns or other problems, often resulting in the need for additional surgery to remove the SCS.Learn MoreSEE IF YOU QUALIFY FOR COMPENSATIONDo You Know AboutโฆSpinal Cord Stimulator lawsuitsSpinal cord stimulator lawsuits are being investigated for individuals who suffered unnecessary shocks, burns or other problems, often resulting in the need for additional surgery to remove the SCS.Learn MoreSEE IF YOU QUALIFY FOR COMPENSATIONThe recall includes certain Mighty Bliss electric heating pads manufactured between Jan 8, 2021 to Jan 3, 2022 and distributed from July 29, 2021 through July 21, 2022 through Amazon.com and Walmart.com.
