Recall Issued for Bugaboo Cameleon Strollers Due to Injury Risk
More than 10,000 Bugaboo baby strollers have been pulled off of the market because of defectively designed handles, which could allow a parent to drop their baby.Â
A Bugaboo Cameleon3 Stroller recall was announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on March 27, following at least 16 reports of the carrying handles breaking and detaching from the bassinet. To date, no injuries have been reported.
The removable handle allows carrying the bassinet instead of using the stroller. The CPSC reports the handle could break away from the bassinet while carrying the child, allowing them to fall from heights that could cause severe head trauma.

The CPSC advises consumers to remove the “U” shaped handle from the bassinet seat and contact Bugaboo Americas at (800) 460-2922, email the firm at serviceus@bugaboo.com or visit them online at www.bugaboo.com to receive a free replacement handle. The bassinet on the chassis may still be used until the free replacement handle arrives but the handle should be removed and not be used to remove the bassinet from the chassis.
