Cuisinart Food Processor Recall: Risk of Injury from Broken Covers

|

Cuisinart is recalling roughly 25,000 food processors after reports that suggest the blades may loosen and break the covers, posing a risk of broken plastic pieces hitting customers and causing laceration injuries.

The Cuisinart food processor recall was announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on November 21, indicating that the reversible slicing/shredding disc in the products may loosen during use and strike the food processor’s cover. At least one report has been received of a consumer being struck on the cheek by a piece of the plastic cover, after it cracked while the food processor reversible slicing disc was being used.

The recall includes Cuisinart 7-cup food processors with model numbers MFP-107, MFP-107BC, MFP-107BCWS, MFP-107BK, MFP-107BKWS, MFP-107DCWS, MFP-107MGSLT, MFP-107MR or MFP-107WS. The processors have a seven cup plastic bowl and were sold in white, black, brush chrome, metallic gray, metallic red, and silver colors. The units have Cuisinart stamped on the front with “On”, “Pulse”, and “Off” buttons.
