Dollar General Instant Coffee Recall Issued Due to Glass Fragments in Clover Valley Jars

Dollar General Instant Coffee Recall Issued Due to Glass Fragments in Clover Valley Jars

Dollar General has recalled certain jars of Clover Valley Instant Coffee after a customer discovered pieces of glass inside the product.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced the Clover Valley Instant Coffee recall on August 12, stating that jars of coffee potentially contaminated with glass fragments had been distributed to Dollar General stores in every U.S. state except for Alaska and Hawaii.

Clover Valley Instant Coffee is a private label sold exclusively through Dollar General. According to the company, the issue was brought to their attention after a customer reported finding foreign material inside one of the jars.

Swallowing glass can result in serious health complications, including dental injuries, cuts to the mouth or throat, and potentially life-threatening internal damage if the fragments travel through the digestive tract.

The recalled coffee may have been sold in all 48 continental U.S. states, excluding Alaska and Hawaii, where Dollar General does not operate. No injuries have been reported to date.

Consumers are urged to discard any affected jars and contact Dollar General for a full refund, including applicable taxes. The company has launched an investigation to determine the source of the contamination.
