Hobby Lobby Candle Recall Isued After Fires, Injury Reported

Following reports of more than two dozen problems with Hobby Lobby candles sold throughout the U.S., more than 130,000 of the DD brand candles have been recalled due to a risk of fire, property damage and burn injuries.

The Hobby Lobby candle recall was announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on November 18, after the manufacturer received at least 29 reports that suggested that the candle’s high flame may ignite the surface of the wax, causing a fire.

Among the reports of fires caused by the Hobby Lobby candles, at least nine reports involved property damage and one case resulted in a consumer injury.
