Costco Kawasaki Cordless Drill Recalled Due to Burn Hazard

About 45,000 Kawasaki cordless drills sold exclusively at Costco stores have been recalled after a number of reports suggest that they may overheat and cause burn injuries.

The Kawasaki cordless drill recall was announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on June 27, after the importer, Alltrade Tools LLC, of Long Beach, California, received at least 33 reports of the tools overheating, including information about at least one person who suffered a minor burn injury.

The CPSC has traced the problem to defective trigger switches, which can short circuit and create excessive heat.

I bought this from Costco and never knew about this until today when I was trying to get a replacement battery for this since the original won't charge and kept making a weird noise with charging it. Never got a notice from Costco about the recall or from the company.

I have the same issue as Eric. Is it too late to do anything?

I have one of these drills and just found out about the recall. None of the links work. Am I just out of luck?
