Trumpette Baby Socks Recall Issued Due To Choking Hazard

|

About 33,000 baby socks have been recalled due to defectively designed flower and bow decorations that may become detached, posing a potential choking hazard to young children.

An Aubree’s and Hearts baby sock recall was announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on April 10, following reports of the flower and bow decorations detaching from the socks. To date, no injuries have been reported.

The recall includes “Aubree’s” and “Hearts” baby socks sold in packages of six and in multiple colors for sizes 0-12 months. The “Aubree’s” socks were sold with flowers attached to the toes and the “Hearts” socks have a heart pattern with bows attached to the toes. The word “TRUMPETTE” is printed on the soles.

The recalled baby socks were manufactured in China under Asia Socks of China and imported by Trumpette Inc., of Sacramento, California where they were sold at Buy Buy Baby, Right Start and Trumpette stores nationwide and online at buybuybaby.com, rightstart.com, and trumpette.com from December 2012 through February 2013 for roughly $15.

The CPSC recommends that consumers immediately remove the recalled socks from young children and remove the bows and flowers to prevent any further hazard, or return the socks to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers may also contact Trumpette Inc. at (877) 938-7265 or visit the firm online at www.trumpette.com and navigate to the “Recall” link for more information.
