Entenmann’s Donut Recall Issued Due to Mold Contamination

Following reports of food poisoning and unpleasant smells caused by mold growth on some Entenmann’s and Bimbo donuts, a recall has been issued for products distributed in Arizona, California, Idaho, Nevada, Utah and Wyomin.

The donut recall was announced on May 10 by the FDA after Bimbo Bakeries, USA began receiving reports that Entenmann’s Pop ‘Ems Donuts and Bimbo Donitas were making some consumers ill in western states.

Mold contamination is being blamed for the illnesses and the recall. The donuts have an uncharacteristic and unpleasant smell and can cause some people to suffer temporary gastrointestinal illness, with symptoms including nausea and diarrhea.

I have photos of the products in the STORE with AMPLE time for Expiration date with MOLD on their products. Multiple times I have purchased the products directly from the store opened the box, with at least 5-7 days left before expiration date and found MOLD on and IN the product. One time I came home from store with box only to open it THAT day and found ANTS IN THE PRODUCT. Other times the cheese filling has been rancid or soured. I have contacted Entemanns. They assured me anything purchased with the Expiration date AFTER Aug 30 should be fine. But I still find cakes in the store and when opened the BOX the SAME DAY product was purchased..with MOLD! Entemanns refuses to continue dialong about this issue and their insurance company told me that because I didnt get violently sick there was nothing they could do. I contacted both the FDA and Florida Dept of health. They requested the pictures I have as well as dates and times of purchase(almost every cake was purchased from a different store at different times with different expiration dates).
