Malpractice Lawsuit Filed Over Delayed Diagnosis of Brain Aneurysm November 12, 2010 Staff Writers Add Your Comments The family of a local Kentucky radio personality have filed a medical malpractice lawsuit over a hospital’s failure to diagnose a brain aneurysm in a timely fashion, which allegedly resulted in her death. The wrongful death lawsuit was brought by the family of Francene Cucinello against the North Audubon Hospital in Kentucky. The complaint alleges that Cucinello received a misdiagnosis from the hospital, which indicated she was suffering from pneumonia when in truth her brain was bleeding. Cucinello, 43, died on January 15. Cucinello was the host of the Francene Show on 84 WHAS radio in the Louisville area. She went to the North Audubon Hospital emergency room on January 11, suffering from a headache, nausea, vomiting, neck pain, stomach pain and shortness of breath. Learn More SEE IF YOU QUALIFY FOR COMPENSATION According to the family, she was diagnosed with pneumonia at first, but on January 13 she was given a CAT scan after healthcare professionals noticed that one of her pupils was dilated. The scan revealed that she had been suffering a brain aneurysm, which had occurred three days earlier, according to the diagnosis of a neurosurgeon at Norton Hospital, where Cucinello was transferred on January 14. She died the next day. The brain aneurysm misdiagnosis lawsuit alleges that the hospital’s negligence delayed the correct diagnosis and contributed to her death. The complaint alleges that the death may have been prevented if the CAT scan had been done earlier. According to a report by The Courier-Journal in Louisville, North Audubon Hospital officials have not commented on the specifics of the case, but say that Cucinello received the appropriate care while at the hospital. Now my other grandfather is in hospice all because he had his gallbladder removed there. They sent him home after he had low blood pressure and a uti, only for him to come back by ambulance three days later he vomited brown stuff and fell. First they said he had a stroke.(I went back to see him and his left side was unusable. I told my self this had to be his bile duct and this is a heart attack)..after further testing he had a heart attack, UTI that he had when they released him the first time, and a clogged bile duct (something they should of caught when they removed his gallbaldder). Now he can’t swallow and is refusing feeding tubes and has a DNR. He was fine then had his gallbladder removed. They didn’t even give him anything for his irritability….and one nurse was so rude to say “how do you all know he is in pain” she says this after he shook his head yes that he was in pain….He had been in pain for 5 days without taking anything for it… My grandmother went in that hospital for her kidneys..hit the call button to use the restroom….no one came..she fell in a wet spot and broke her shoulder. Well their excuse….because she had osteoporosis they didn’t know if they wanted to do surgery on her. No one called the family she died of a heart attack because of all the pain she was in.. the hospital didnt call till 3 hours after she died….No one got to say goodbye. My father was so angry he didn’t even want to sue. My other grandfather was in there and hit his call button to use the bathroom and no one came he was 94 years old. Well he got up and used it himself…when the nurse walked in she said “how dare you sick pervert…wacking off you have a lot of nerve” well I took care of that after he told the next day. I went to the nurses station and told them i wanted her name to thank her…when she came in I told her to never go in my grandfathers room again and that she must of had some underlying issues and needed therapy and not to take it out on my grandfather just because she was too lazy to answer his call button (all in front of her supervisor)….. This ER also told me that I should drink Coca Cola for my migraines with Excedrin….well Later on I was diagnosised with spinal stenosis , bulged discs in my neck, and degenerative disc disease.I got kidney stones made of caffeine because of drinking too much caffeine. I later had a son with Chairi malformation..I am to be tested when I get insurance……I told my children if they ever send me there I am escaping. debra August 5, 2011 my attorney states the hospital misdiagnois my anerysm on two occasion, when my eye doctor recognized the anerysm immeadiately.iwent to the emergency department in my city, the first day withserver pain over my right eye and neck in which they paid no attention to,the second visit i went to same hospital with a dialiated eye, drooping eyelid so i went to my eye specialist and thats wo sent me to the same hospital for a ct scan andthe clot was found.but my attorney state that once the eye was involved it would be hard to prove that some type of interventio would havesolve this problem if other doctors that did the brain surgery were to say if my area hospital had gotten to you 24hrs earlier then you would have gotten your eyesight back, then perhaps youcould make a case out of this debra June 30, 2011 i sufferred the same brain aneursym..my hospital emergency room doctors let me suffered over 10 months before i was diagnosed, stateing miagraine ,giving me pain killer and sending me home to suffer more .so i went to my vision doctor whom sent me to the hospital for a cat scan.which diagnosed bleeding on my brain.now i have doublevision in my right eye and a platium stent in my right vessel of my brain . i have a potential case but,my attorney state that if they had no reason to do a cat scan i have no case.in which i don’t believ because iam now handicapped with my vision from the emergency room doctors negligence InstagramThis field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.Share Your CommentsFirst Name*Last NameEmail* Shared Comments*This field is hidden when viewing the formI authorize the above comments be posted on this page Yes No Post Comment I authorize the above comments be posted on this page Weekly Digest Opt-In Yes, send me a weekly email with the latest lawsuits, recalls and warnings.
