Another wrongful death lawsuit has been filed by the family of a mugging victim who suffered a traumatic brain injury. Other complaints against the hospital include charges that it gave a penicillin shot to a patient wearing a bracelet identifying her as allergic to penicillin, and failing to treat a diabetic’s puncture wound, resulting in the need for amputation of the patient’s toes. Of the five hospitals under consideration for the merger, Brookdale is the third largest, but the one with the most lawsuits. Terri February 26, 2020 Maimonides medical Center is neglectful an there neglect contributed to my son D’John passing on December 9, 2 2019. I don’t dispute the fact that my son was sick. He had lupus an was going for surgery for valve replacements at 7am the morning he passed. There is no reason for someone whose in the cardiac ICU unit should end up on the floor twice. Especially since the on heart monitoring machines an right by the nurse station in cardiac ICU. December 6 & December 9 he was found on the floor. How can they state he passed & sign his death certificate at 6:24am. When the autopsy report proves he died at 12:35am. How can that be? That’s is a 6:11 minutes time difference . I had one requested because nothing they told me sounded right. From the moment I recieved that first call. An when I arrived to the hospital an held my son. How come there are notes no for the nurse logs from 1pm until 5:10 on December 9, 2019. Yet, he suppose to be monitored constantly. Every hour on the hour there are notes of what was done. All through his records expect those 4 hours. No heart, no blood pressure nothing?. Lab results from that date done. So what exactly happened to my son during those 4 hours? That the staff was suppose to be monitoring & caring for him? Nothing for over 4 hours. In the cardiac ICU unit. How can the state they found him on the floor at 5:15am on Decenber 9, 2019. But a nurse was in his room at 5:10? An all through his records there notes of what was done except those hours. Nowhere in his records. How can tell call me at 6:01 an tell me they where doing recessitation on him for over 45-50 minutes. (109 minutes according to there records.) Yet he was incubated an taken to CCU. An then he found phone pulseless on the bed shortly after this. Tell he how is it that hospitals get away with the neglect they do? An not held accountable for it. It doesnt matter what my sons medical condition was. But, the care, medical treatment an supervision he should have recieved. That they failed to provide.
